I began my professional journey at the age of 15, which ignited my passion for gaining real-world experience while balancing my academic pursuits. Over the past three years, I have developed a strong work ethic and valuable skills through various roles in the workforce. My experiences have not only enhanced my understanding of workplace dynamics but also allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge from my academic projects in practical settings. ACR Homes

10/2024 - Current

Direct Care Professional

Working at ACR Homes in a residential setting with four residents is incredibly fulfilling. My role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including assisting with daily personal care such as bathing, administering medications, and providing necessary treatments. I face new challenges in this role every day and it has been so interesting and enjoyable to be able to overcome these challenges. The connections I build with the residents and the positive impact I have on their daily lives make this role exceptionally rewarding.

Skills:

  • Managed the administration of medications and treatments at scheduled times throughout the day.

  • Assisted patients with handling daily chores and errands by transporting to appointments, cleaning personal spaces, and purchasing supplies.

  • Contributed to higher quality of life for clients by addressing any barriers or challenges that arose within their home settings or daily routines.

Adventures Plus

Child Care Assistant

After reaching the minimum age requirement of 16, I began my second job at Adventures Plus a before and after school childcare program, where I have continued to grow and learn. In my role, I often took on responsibilities beyond my position, such as creating custom behavior plans and supporting children with special needs. I am dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment and have enjoyed planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and development. Although I’m currently on a break while attending college, I hope to return during breaks to reconnect with the kids, as I find this work incredibly rewarding.

Skills:

  • In many scenarios I took on the responsibility's of positions superior to me by creating custom behavior plans and helping with special needs children.

Irish Fair of Minnesota

Event Staff

Working at The Irish Fair of Minnesota was a fulfilling opportunity that allowed me to celebrate my Irish heritage while contributing to an event I’ve cherished throughout my life. For eight days, I coordinated with vendors to ensure smooth operations and supervised volunteers to meet deadlines and specifications. I also organized seating arrangements for guests before events and responded promptly to requests from attendees and speakers. This experience not only deepened my connection to my culture but also enhanced my organizational and leadership skills.

Last summer, I teamed up with two friends to launch IBU Lawn Care, where we provided biweekly lawn care services to residential and commercial clients. I took the lead in organizing our website and managing both digital and physical marketing efforts. We developed comprehensive lawn care plans tailored to each customer's unique needs, performing a range of services including mowing, edging, trimming, aerating, overseeding, and fertilizing. I ensured the safe and efficient operation of power equipment while also providing detailed estimates to potential clients. This venture not only honed my entrepreneurial skills but also deepened my commitment to customer satisfaction.

Sandwich Artist

I started my first job at Subway shortly after my 15th birthday and spent a rewarding year and a half there. As a shift lead, I was responsible for managing daily operations and ensuring a smooth workflow. I took pride in greeting customers and sharing product knowledge to enhance their experience. Additionally, I operated cash registers and processed payments efficiently. My role also included training new employees, which helped me develop strong leadership and communication skills.
